Pay Your Dreams First

I’m sure you’ve heard the saying, “Pay yourself first” – It usually relates to the idea of saving a percentage of your paycheck as soon as you receive it and then living on the remainder. This is a much more effective approach than trying to save whatever is left over at the end of the month because we all know that there’s rarely anything ‘left over’.

What many people don’t realise is that this same principle applies not only to money but also to time and energy.
When you’re working full time and/or raising a family, you may find that at the end of the day you just don’t have enough time or energy left to work on achieving your personal goals and dreams.
In order to make your goals a reality, you must make two important decisions:

(1) Decide that your goals are important and make them a priority in your life.

(2) Decide to work on YOUR dreams before you work for other people.

Now you might be thinking. “Anthony – that sounds good in theory, but what does it mean in the real world?” – Good question…Let’s have a look at an example:

Here is a typical work day for most people:

Time	Activity
7:00am	Wake up and get ready for work
8:00am	Travel to work
9:00am – 6:00pm	Work for other people
7:00pm	Dinner
8:00pm – 11.00pm	Spend time with family / watch TV etc
11:00pm	Go to sleep

The most practical and effective system for making your dreams a reality is this:
Step 1: Go to sleep an hour earlier than usual
Step 2: Wake up an hour earlier than usual
Step 3: Spend the first hour of your day working on your personal goals and dreams
By following this system, you make your goals a priority and “Pay Your Dreams First”
Let’s look at a revised timetable:

Time	Activity
6:00am	Wake up and get ready for work
7:00am	Work on your goals and dreams
8:00am	Travel to work
9:00am – 6:00pm	Work for other people
7:00pm	Dinner
8:00pm – 10.00pm	Spend time with family / watch TV etc
10:00pm	Go to sleep

Although it might initially be difficult to make these lifestyle changes, if you can adopt this as your new morning routine, you’ll find yourself on the fast track to creating the life you really desire. Each and every day you’ll be gaining momentum and moving steadily towards achieving your goals.
You really can change your life one hour at a time. Always remember:

The Prime Minister flags off the nation-wide rollout of Mobile Number Portability on Thursday. But are you still wondering how to access it? Here's all you need to know.

Q. What is MNP?
MNP allows users to retain their mobile telephone numbers even if they switch operators. Once the switching begins, it will also force telecom providers to improve the quality of their services.

Q. How can I avail MNP?
Follow 10 simple steps.
Step 1: Send an SMS to 1900 in this format: PORT
eg. PORT 9000000000
Step 2: You receive an SMS that contains a unique porting code
Step 3: SMS this unique code to your preferred operator.
(Note: This code is valid only for a few days. You will have to re-apply if it expires)
(Or) goto the nearest Customer service center (or Retailers) of N/W you want to shift. (for ex, if you are shifting from Airtel to Uninor, Goto Uninor Customer Center).
Step 4: Fill the Form, submit your identity proof, address proof, and photograph and pay Rs. 19. In the form You have to mention UPC Code ( From Step 2).
Step 5: They will give a new Empty SIM.

Step 6: Your current operator will contact your new operator. If there are no dues, you will be granted approval
Step 7: You will get an SMS stating the time and date that porting will take place
(Remember, the rulebook says the process should be completed within 7 working days of applying except in J&K, Assam and North-east areas, where it will take 15 working days)
Step 8: After porting is done, await a confirmation SMS from your new operator
(Your phone could be unavailable for about 2 hours when porting occurs)
Step 9: After this 2hrs the new SIM (From Step 5) will work.
Step 10: Now You are in the new network with old number.

Q. How much would it cost me?
The cost of porting a number to a new operator is only Rs 19.

HJ-Split Freeware multi-platform file splitters

HJSplit is a popular set of freeware file-splitting programs created by Freebyte.com in collaboration with various programmers. HJSplit supports many platforms (Windows XP, Vista, NT, 2000, 3.x, 95/98/ME, DOS, Amiga, Java, etc.). All versions are compatible with each other and allow you to exchange files between these different platforms. E.g. a file split on the Amiga can be joined on Windows 2000 and vice versa.
Now what's the use of a program like HJSplit? Think of a file of 20 Mb, and try to send this to a friend. Using email this does not succeed, it is simply too large, and how to put it onto a floppy? HJSplit will enable you to split the large file into smaller chunks, which can be much more easily sent and stored.
What about a backup of very large Gigabyte sized files? HJSplit (Windows and Java version) also can handle these! E.g. HJSplit allows you to split a 10 Gb file into 640 Mb parts, which can then be stored onto CD-Rom's by your CD-writer software.
Of course HJSplit can join these split parts back together again, so that the original file is restored. Alternatively, you can use HJJoin for this, which is a tiny and specialized program for joining files.
HJSplit is very reliable, simple, small and easy to use. It does not need any installation or complicated DLLs, it just consists of one '.exe' file. This means that you can also run it directly from a floppy or CD-Rom.
